Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in the news once again, and this time it’s not for shirking their royal duties.
The happy couple will continue to do their good work, even if it’s not at the royal kingdom, by trademarking their names for their work related to charity and fundraising. According to Bustle, the pair have filed trademark applications for Sussex Royal, Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and their names. The move comes shortly after Prince Harry announced he would leave the charity he helped found with brother Prince William.
Should the trademark applications be accepted, the marks could be used on clothing items, journals, and other such items which could generate another source of income for the newly independent couple.
Given the fact that William and Queen Elizabeth have similarly and successfully trademarked their royal titles and various charitable organizations, the pair should have a good chance of succeeding. However, Sussex Royal may be more common than the royals have anticipated, given the multiple applications for the mark.
Either way, the world will soon know if this avenue will succeed and contribute to the couple’s trailblazing new lifestyle.
